The number one most important factor in making money from Paid To Click programs is getting active referrals. This fact turns a lot of people off from PTC sites, but the truth is, getting referrals is the only way to earn a significant amount from PTCs. If you are only making money by clicking links you will probably only earn a few dollars a month, but if you recruit other people to your downline, than your earnings are only bound by the number of people you refer. Finding referrals can seem daunting, but if you stick to reputable, high-paying sites, just a handful of good referrals can make you a reasonable profit. Getting referrals can be frustrating, and having goals will help you stay on track, so let's set the goal of making $100 dollars a month from PTCs.
When you first start out you need to define the sites that you are working with, and stick with those. Each site has a limited number of ads to click each day, so your direct daily earnings, as well as your earnings per referral are limited at each site. You can increase the amount you earn by joining more sites, and getting more referrals. However, the more sites you join, the more time you have to spend clicking ads each day, and that can get very tedious. For this reason it is important to find a good balance that lets you make a reasonable amount of money, in a reasonable amount of time. My strategy involves working with just five sites. If you want to join more, that's great, but I am going to base all of my calculations on using five sites that I have found to be reliable. Keep in mind that you may have different results than I do (and for the sake of being concise I round all numbers and calculations down). The sites I use are:

I get about 4 fixed ads a day at 1 cent each, plus 1/2 of what referrals make.

I get about 4 fixed ads a day at 1 cents each, plus 1/2 of what referrals make, and half of what their referrals make.
Probux
I get about 5 ads a day at 2 cents each, plus 50% of what referrals make.
Twickerz
I get about 20+ a day at $.0005, plus 1/2 of what referrals make.
You can choose whatever sites you want, but there are a lot of bad sites out there, and I already went through the trouble of finding good ones for you. Once you have your five sites you are ready to start promoting! Now go grab your affiliate links from the sites and get started.
There are a few things to remember when promoting your links: First, always promote your links together, this way if someone is interested, they may well become your referral in all of your sites, instead of just one. This means that one person can become five referrals. Next, always be truthful; never inflate or flat out lie about a sites earning potential, it hurts everyone's efforts in the end, can ruin your credibility online, and can get you banned from the sites you worked so hard to promote. Last, never SPAM your links or post them anywhere that promoting is banned. This is annoying to everyone, and can also get you banned from your sites.
Now that you have some ground rules, how you promote your links is really up to you. It is a good idea to have somewhere online that all of your links can be displayed together, such as a blog, website, or hubpage. You can then drive traffic to this page to get referrals. It is also a good idea to talk to family and friends about joining your project since they already trust you and you can talk to them in person and explain the details and strategies very clearly. Any people you know who are either unemployed or retired are probably good bets because they are likely to have a little more time to invest than most people. I recommend using a blog cause they are free, easy to use, and get pretty good traffic. I will leave a full discussion of driving traffic to your site for another post.
Another very important thing to remember is that your success is totally dependent on the success of your referrals, if they don't do well, they will quit and you will lose your commission from them. For this reason it is of the utmost importance to educate your referrals on how to be successful, and how to get referrals of their own. Keeping this message alive through all levels of referrals is key to everyones success. It's also key to keep on clicking all the links you are given. After you start to make more from referrals than you do from your own clicks you may be tempted to quit clicking ads. Don't do that. Not only is it rude to the person who recruited you, most sites won't even give you your daily referral commission unless you clicked your ads for the day.
As far as making that $100 goal is concerned, it is possible to make it with as few as 18 referrals. I composed a table below to demonstrate how.

So you see that if you have 20 active referrals, and click all of your own links each day you will make $3.40 + $0.28 = $3.68 each day and $110.40 per month. This exceeds the goal we set of 100 dollars, in fact, 18 referrals is the minimum number to make $100+ a month. 18 referrals = $100.02 per month. This goal of 18 referrals making you about $100 a month may seem modest, but it is a good place to start. Once you get there you will be sure to feel like it is worth your time to keep pursuing PTC sites, and you can keep building your referrals as much as you like. There are many people posting to forums and comment sections claiming to make far more than $100 a month. It really just depends on getting good referrals. Chances are that if you talk to your friends, and family about joining under you and you explain the system in detail, you will be well on your way to your 18 initial referrals.
